I haven't played too many new games but I will say, I am enjoying playing Cyberpunk for the first time. It's quite fun.

I'm not sure I've actually played any games that explicitly came out this year. No one should buy games at launch at this point, everyone should wait at least a few months for patches to come out, updates and DLC to potentially change how the game plays, and to see actual reviews from actual players and not just fall for pre-order hype BS and shill critics. And it's not helped by the fact that I think the games industry as a whole is in a dismal state right now, which means I rarely see games that I want to play at all. I honestly can't think of a single game that came out this year that I care about.

(Though I'm tempted to buy this one, just for the meme: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PO%27ed:_Definitive_Edition )

For games I bought or played for the first time this year... there weren't a whole lot of those, and the ones I enjoyed were more just mildly fun rather than phenomenally exciting or fantastic experiences. I probably had the most fun with the My Time in Portia/My Time in Sandrock games, though I've probably spent the most time playing Disney Dreamlight Valley. The game I've probably enjoyed playing the most overall this year is Baldur's Gate III, but I was playing it last year as well so I don't think I'd count it.

I haven't made it into the expansion content yet, but it'll probably be Factorio Space Age for me. Otherwise, I don't think I've played any games that came out this year yet. Of the games I've finished for the first time this year, Baba is You, Divinity Original Sin 2, and Crosscode stand out as being contenders for favourites, but obviously none of them are particularly new.

I haven't played very many new games this year, so I'd say it's the new Shiren the Wanderer game.

I've heard Dragon's Dogma 2 is repetitive. Especially with the enemy variety. Is that true?

I've been on a not-so-quick playthrough of Dragon Quest XI last year. Finished the main game in October at last and now of course on postgame.

While it's not been fully exclusive, it wins by default.

Silent Hill 2 remake, definitely not better than the original but almost tied with it and it's definitely game of the year. It's not the true disturbing experience the original has though so everyone just needs to play and/or watch both.
I love Lord Jesus, Family Matters (for Steve & Laura which I typed up a beautiful alt from Just One Date episode) and FFIX (for Zidane & Garnet).
I'm gonna go with Persona 3 Reload
Ram Ranch... it ROCKS!
I guess Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred. Although I lose interest in Diablo games once I beat the campaign. The endless grind to paragon 300 and all the endgame content doesn't appeal to me.

Echoes of Wisdom was fine, but probably the least interesting Zelda game since Skyward Sword.

2017 originally, 2019 for the improved S version I have. The demo ran on my old potato, but the full game ends up requiring Windows 10, which it didn't have, nor a C: big enough to be able to switch to it.

The most recent games I have are low spec ones from 2023, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo. Two more needing Windows 10. Don't have anything 2024 yet. The upcoming Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake has a good chance to become the first.

A little bit, yeah. Not as many enemy types as the first game if memory serves. Still love it, though. The visuals are simply stunning, and I love exploring the map. The combat is pretty freaking fun, too. Story is meh, but story really isn't the most important thing to me.

I think the first game is on sale in stram for like 5 bucks right now. Give it a try if you're even remotely interested.

I haven't played a 2024 game yet, so simply of the games I've played this year, I'd have to go with Ghost Recon Wildlands.

I enjoyed the first one too. Even though it felt half- finished. I also tried to DLC but couldn't beat the final boss. He was ridiculous!

I finally got to play Metaphor and it's p gud. It's also the only 2024 game I've played so I guess it wins by default.

Crow Country or Astro Bot... I haven't finished it yet but Silent Hill 2 Remake is also definitely going to be up there.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. Although I must admit I haven't played much this year.

Ah of course not. Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is 2024 too. That has priority. Metaphor has my eye.

I played Dragon Age Veilguard, but I definitely had more fun with the Metaphor ReFantazio Demo even though it was literally just a demo.

That demo was definitely better than Hades 2 which is the only other game I played this year.
Just came out but I think Zephon is in the top five of this year.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Stellar Blade was also top-notch, and I just started Astro Boy, which is really really good as well. Solid year for gaming overall.

personally I didnt mind the rereleases but Im an insane person that would probably play SMT V a third time if they did it again and I get why it pisses people off LOL

I liked the Elden Ring DLC, FF 7 remake part 2 (a lot better than the first), and the new Shadow game. Not sure what I'd say was the best new game I've played though, they're all very different
