Not music, but musicians. I knew Ginger Baker was an old grump, but I can't believe I never saw this interview. It's possibly the funniest thing I've seen in years. I listened to the entire thing today. Not exactly a lot to learn, but I think Ginger wins for the grumpiest old coot of all time.

I used to definitely find them to be a bit 'boring' and almost buttrock adjacent. The vibe I get is very Gen-X. It's definitely not as experimental as I'm usually drawn to, but I appreciate the musicianship and performance now. STP definitely feel like they're in that nebulous 'grunge' zone where there are a lot of similarities to Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.

A lot of the guitar/bass work initially feels straightforward, but there's a fair bit of interesting stuff going on. I think the understated elements of the song get a bit buried in the distortion initially.

This song's also very, very nice. I'd say it shows off their versatility, but a lot of heavy 90s band had their ballads. The chorus is very Beatles-y to me.

Here's the final Sabbath show...I could make little critiques, obviously. Even during the shaky moments in War Pigs though, I'm impressed that they bring it right back. Good communication between Bill and Tony. Geezer is still a titan. And goddamn, I am really impressed with Ozzy!! They probably collectively crush NIB the hardest.
