You know, I've been regretting that I can't link any tunes from Caroline Rose's latest album - "year of the slug" - which they did at home and recorded on their phone - because it isn't on any streaming sites (Caroline Rose hates them almost as much as she hates LiveNation), but then I realized they totally provided a free streaming link because you can do that when you self-release.

Well, I did the other two...I suppose I should I do the third - Lucy Dacus.

To be perfectly honest, I love her solo stuff a lot less than Phoebe's or Julien's. It's hard to put my finger on it exactly, but Lucy just does...less for me. This, in spite of the fact that she's the primary architect of 2 out of 3 of my favorite boygenius songs. Weird how that works, right?
Lucy is sweet, philosophical, wry, and possessed with a brutally effective deadpan. If I had to get sushi with one of the boys, it would be Lucy: she appreciates how fucking delicious eel is. She's eager to indulge in Phoebe's antics including Phoebe's war on public decency and, of course, is Julien Baker's girlfriend. But I'll try....

The joke of the post is that there's an early Freezepop song about how Liz wishes she named the band Brainpower instead of Freezepop. But it kinda....sucks. That one is better.
