I have been to two vegan restaurants

theyre not bad.

but I feel like this is going to end up with me eating a lot of dinners by myself. Which I was doing anyway so thats fine I guess
Nice! I like vegan food, even though I'm not vegan. I feel like not every meal is shared when you've only just started eating lol.

I've been vegan for 6 months. Lots of great food options. If you haven't tried TVP (textured vegetable protein) yet, you're in for a treat.

Yeah but I love food and going out to eat at different places and that definitely limits that, especially because its not vegetarian its vegan. But its cool if thats the biggest issue then thats not a huge deal. Just something that has to be adapted to

Shes been vegan for 16 years

idk what tvp is, but Ill try anything. The two vegan places we went to were both Mexican based but both were crazy good. And I door dashed her this place that had like fried chicken sandwiches and she added cheese and mayo and all this shit and it was all vegan. And she said thats where she eats when she wants to eat like shit and I was like huh I didnt know places like that existed either
That's nice, dear..

Anyway, my wife is allergic to milk. You might be amazed by how many foods have dairy in them. Everything from bread, to potato chips.

So a lot of the time we end up having to be extremely particular when cooking or ordering food. Basically no desserts are safe when eating out, unless they are explicitly vegan.

What I'm saying is, particular dietary restrictions are easy to accommodate once you get used to them. Well maybe not easy, but they get easier over time.

Is going to vegan restaurants really necessary? If you're going to live a vegan lifestyle you really should be cooking for yourself tbh. Because the food will be much more affordable and you can make sure it really is vegan
On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
I bet you say that to all the boys...
but my mom's not vegan??

I don't know if vegans have an above average price for different dietary restrictions, but, home cooking is always more affordable and you're more aware of what's what. That's not really the point.

I'm lactose intolerant and learned that the hard way. Fried chicken at some places is fried in buttermilk, some fries and chips have milk powder sprinkled on them, even Maruchan Ramen noodles have dairy, etc. Almost everything I eat is homecooked, but if I'm eating out then I'll bring my lactase pills with me (which don't always do the job)
Delicious and vicious, while maliciously nutritious.

Wife of an old co-worker had a number of allergies to things common enough that grocery shopping was a big challenge every time. Same problem, I forget to what exactly, but it was also the kind of stuff that seems to be in everything.

Remember my brother brought his vegetarian gf over to our grandmother's house for some kinda family gathering and the agreement was shed cook a separate dinner for them.

Well she asked to take a shower while my mom cooked for everyone else. My brother was just staring so hard at the pork chops and my mom asked if he wanted one. "Please" was all he said. Think he ate two before she got out of the shower

Looking up my own medium sized city (80k or so), my preferred food delivery service (Thuisbezorgd, being the part of Just Eat Takeaway that operates in the Netherlands), I see a dozen or more delivery places that have vegan options, two of which by their name specialize in it, one burgers, one kebab/shoarma.

I myself do part time vegetarianism, mostly 2 or 3 days a week, but not vegan.
