Good news is, the bowel cancer is still gone after the surgery.
Bad news is, they've found a tumor somewhere else.

At this point, the only two people in my life who aren't facing life threatening conditions are my two children.

I'm not superstitious or anything, but I am starting to feel like I must have pissed off an elder god or something.

Currently, it looks like my mother will be going back to hospital tomorrow or the day after, depending on when she's lost enough blood for the hospital to give a shit.

Within the next month or so, my partner will need surgery for the new tumor and about 3 months to recover. They'll need to recover at their parents, because two ND children can be *demanding*. I'm just hoping my mother doesn't have any health crises in that time, because... yeah.

Thanks doc, but the multidisciplinary team are on it already.

The cancers are unrelated. It's just [lucky] the PET scan picked up the new one.

No need to apologise, but I should apologise for being prickly.

We've just had so many "suggestions" that I'm getting needlessly obstreperous. Thank you for the suggestion, though. I'm definitely now receiving it in the manner in which it was intended, which is one of positivity.

My mum's recurrent and life-threatening health condition that was *caused* by her treatment for another life-threatening health condition is now also flaring up.

Definitely fucked off an Elder God.

Ok, so, stop me if you've heard this one.

My partner's latest cancer surgery went well, but the cannula in their hand caused a massive clot in one of the veins in their hand.

God damn, has that improved yet? Idk how that stuff works but Im here rooting for yall.
The histology came back from the shit they cut out. Stage 1A but would have been extremely aggressive if it hadn't been dealt with. So, we are definitely extremely lucky. My partner's currently recovering from fairly invasive surgery, but everything looks good so far.

The blood clot was definitely a blood clot but resolved without needing warfarin or anything that awful.

So basically, slow recovery, but we are happily inhabiting the best-case scenario.

Thank you for showing concern, I really appreciate it.
