One of my high-school Biology teachers graded on a curve, which I destroyed.
Not only did I score about 100% on the normal class work, the teacher often handed out voluntary drawing assignments (of animals, plants, etc. of the particular topic we were covering) that could be turned in for the chance at extra credit, but only the student with the best drawing would get it. And I would almost always get it.
It was an easy class, but thanks to that curve, there was just one other A that quarter.
