I'd barely seen anything about Rayearth before Super Robot Wars 30 (which also has gorgeous 90's style animation for their attacks) and I was sorta interested for a bit, but it looks like it's mostly monster of the week style anime. Had to throw it in the pile with Gaogaigar and Card Captor Sakura where things I'm a fan of that I'll probably never watch lie
You can bet your ass I brought Flame God Rayearth to endgame in SRW though
It starts that way for the first 2/3 of the first season. The second season is better about it by far.
