I think the rpgs are as good as theyve ever been, wouldnt mind another pet sim, new order was fun but super rough and could use a lotta improvement
and we really dont need anything in the vein of 2 or 4

Last I heard they decided to start referring to the RPGs as Digimon Story, which I believe is their name in Japanese anyway, and the pet sims as Digimon World. That said, this apparent change only really started around Cyber Sleuth and Next Order. Saying "apparently" because I've only seen it second-hand on message boards.

Given the difference between Digimon World 1 and Digimon world 2 technically any of the games could be "digimon world". Personally I didn't enjoy next order very much so I would rather they just stick with the standard rpgs as the cyber sleuth games were quite good.

Looking at the Japanese name for Cyber Sleuth its just "Digimon Story" in katakana. So yeah, looks like a missed opportunity.
