I love it; it was actually my first RPG. This is the first game in years that I intend to jump straight into on release day. I usually don't buy games on release, and rarely start playing them as soon as I get them.

They're stylistically consistent enough with the other races, so I think the only reason they feel out of place is because they were such one-offs. Going 27 years without having any further context in which to fit would make anything seem out of place.

I used to replay it once a month the first year it came out back in 1996. I just picked up a copy of the remake for my kids to play (and obviously me, too, when I have time) so that they can get into it like I did

Its just Babys First JRPG. I thought it was alright when I played it on the Wii. Very simply game, and short to boot.

I just bought Star Ocean 2 for $50 and thought that was a bit too much even though it was completely new to me and I did enjoy myself. Ill get SMRPG used from GameStop in a few weeks

There haven't been too many Mario games that I did not like but the old school side scrolling Mario games from the 8 and 16-bit era are still my all time favs. I did not like Mario Is Missing at all.

I like the original version of the PC version with normal people at points of interest booths instead of Mario characters. It's mostly nostalgia, though.

On topic, I think it's okay to not like SMRPG. PM64 and TTYD are better games.

It's a ground-up remake. They added passive buffs, action command chain gauge, party attacks, cutscenes, new dialogue, rare special enemies, boss rematches, new weapons and accessories, auto-saves, an easier difficulty mode, and some other stuff. Some attacks had their properties changed. Certain dialogue was altered or removed, and stuff like blackjack at the casino was removed. The exploits that were present in the original game were recreated in the remake

I am going to beat it tonight, I am at the last save before the final two bosses in the main game.

Looking forward to try out the new boss battles post-game. Although from everything I read I will need to grind a bit since they say max level is required to beat them.

SMRPG whips so much ass. I loved the hell out of the game as a kid and even after replaying it about a dozen times over the years since it still rules. I haven't had time to play it much this week but I bought it this weekend as soon as I could.

Not at all. They can be beaten if your levels are in the early 20s. Most of the rematches are gimmick fights, only a couple of them are straight up brawls. The final final battle will require a good setup though
