I'm watching Godzilla King of the Monsters

This is a stupid stupid movie about dinosaurs shooting lightning bolts at each other.

They're both awesome

Both are great in their own ways.
I like that Shin was very political, just like the OG 1954 film. KotM was just a great blockbuster and only the last 3rd of Kong VS Godzilla felt on the same level

I actually liked the first like 3rd of KotM but just the longer it went on, the dumber it got. It felt like they tried to fit multiple movies into one movie.

Shin Godzilla is probably the closest any movie has come to capturing the spirit of the original film

The movie squandered too much to be that enjoyable. It would've been better if it was a straight remake of Ghidrah the Three Headed Monster.

Yes the baby Godzilla in Shin is adorable.

Also I found out a new Godzilla movie is coming out in December. Godzilla Minus One, which is about Godzilla attacking Japan at the end of WW2.

I actually unironically liked godzilla, I know a lot whined about it but I weirdly enjoyed it.

After Kong skull island I was like holy crap could this movie series they're building up actually be good.

When kotm came out I was like "aren't they blowing their load too early featuring seemingly every single monster and king ghidorah? Isn't he like the Darkseid/Thanos of the series?"

Movie was ok. I wasn't a fan of the stranger things chick and her posse scenes. And the fight scenes being shot in the dark in a whirling snow storm is worse than the prvious godzilla movie trick they did where they kept cutting to black for the early muto and godzilla fight scenes.

I guess they dropped trying to make "muto" a word after that first movie.
