What is Final Fantasy XIV? It's an MMORPG in the long and storied Final Fantasy series!

You said something about raiding and fighting monsters? FFXIV follows the "trinity" school of design for MMOs. There are broadly three roles, Tank, Damage(DPS) and Healer. And under these there are currently 19 Job classes to play as. I hear everything is locked behind the story? Yes, absolutely everything in this game requires you to follow the story, or MSQ. And over the years the MSQ has expanded and expanded and expanded. There are hundreds and hundreds of quests to get through at this point. And every 4 months they add even more. But if story isn't your thing, you can purchase level and story skips in the game's real money store, the mogstation. Though personally I like the story, especially later on in Heavensward and Shadowbringers and the journey is really something to experience, so I would not recommend doing so.

Endwalker is currently going through its patch cycle, with hints of a fan favorite villain returning sprinkled throughout. There's exciting new things on the horizon, new raids, new trials, new variable difficulty dungeons, the island sanctuary, new relics, new stories, new PvP seasons and rewards, and Yoshi has said new, original Job classes are being designed for the next expansion. We're currently in 6.1, eagerly awaiting 6.2, and even beyond FFXIV, it looks like it's never been a better time to be a Final Fantasy fan in general.

I probably haven't even fully explored every ARR zone and i've been playing at least 2.1~. i barely completed the first eureka and bozja zones, i have no ARR relics and only one HW relic, I still haven't turned in my quest for Temple of the Fist... i just login and once in a blue moon raid for 1-2 tiers at a time

My final Eureka weapon has been completed, and I'm done with six of the eight crafting classes when it comes to Grade 4 Expert crafting. Now I need to decide what to work on next on my ever-shrinking to-do list.

I kinda wish I had a good group to run with, because that'd make the answer easy with E8s. I still need those ten clears and the mount. With high-ish-end gear, such as being over i580, it's possible to skip LR, this making what's left of the fight easy.

Damn. Decisions, decisions.

This morning got Sephirot normal for Trials roulette. A bunch of sprouts in there, most of the party died. Ended up being just me on DRK and the other tank, a GNB iirc. Somebody was like "There's something incredible about a person named 'Paper Cup' kicking this guy's ass" and we just barely managed to kill the boss. I got like 5 comms lol

Just 80 million mettle to go, and I'll have all Honors. I have been popping in and out of Southern Front the last few days, catching the necessary skirmish multiple times, and yet still no final field note because rng hates me. Thanks for the craptastic design, Yoshi. <_<

Yeah I remember the last couple notes took me a while. I had to sit there for hours and hours every day grinding the same couple fates or raids hoping against hope I'd get the drop I'd need.

So I had thought the relic line would be attached to the treasure islands north of Othard, but it seems they'll be attached to Hildibrand. What's more is the Island Sanctuaries appear to be said treasure islands, if it's anything to go by that we can go treasure hunting in these areas.

My question is if it will follow the housing garden rules of needing to tend to stuff or feed animals, or if it will go the way of feeding a chocobo in XI on three different in-game days in order to progress the relevant quest. We shall see. Having grown up during the Tamagotchi period, I can picture a lot of abandoned islands with grotesque results, so... Yeah. <_<

I wonder if the Island Sanctuary will be worth coming back for. My sub expires next week and no plans to re-sub for the time being. Trying to palm off FC leader to someone else, haha

Final Fantasy 14(The BEST Active MMORPG, PC)

Got the Airship running so It can reach The Howling Eye, and took on Garuda. I'm not really sure what the story was with Garuda. What exactly was she trying to do? And to be clear, yes, I am asking!

Also, can someone please explain what happened with that cutscene in heaven or wherever I was?

Depends which bosses.

Warring Triad is in HW.
Phantom Train, the painting boss, Guardian, and Kefka are the second tier Omega raid in Stormblood. O8 Savage even goes the extra mile and gives us Kefka's clown god form.
First tier Omega is the bosses from the end of V, with Savage giving us Neo Exdeath, O9 gives us Chaos from I, and the Ivalice 24-man raids is largely FF Tactics with bits of XII sprinkled in for measure.
Endwalker has a ton of IV.

Really, the whole game is sprinkled with bosses from previous games. You just have to be specific with which ones you mean.

There used to be, but they changed how the rewards system works, so all of the old sub rewards can be bought from Jonathas in Old Gridania now for achievement certificates.

The change was such a slap in the face when it happened. I was something like a month, month and a half, from getting the last vet reward I cared about. Then the change happened, and I ended up spending a couple certificates on the minion.

Then they added like three or four items to the certificate shop shortly afterward and called it a day, when it took around 6k achievement points to get everything in there. Back then, the average person playing for a couple years or more could easily have earned that much. I think I was at around 11k points by then, after having played for three or four years?

Sheesh, more than that much time has since passed.

I've been juggling some ideas for improving my apartment in the game, and for the last couple days I finally sat down and added some improvements. The wall opposite to my entrance is finally done. Now I need to figure out what else to do to improve the look of the whole apartment. Bonus points if I can raise the item count to 69; it was 15 before improvements and is 29 now.
