20 y/o Elf, Nehemiah Griego from New Mexico murdered his ENTIRE FAMILY when he was 15 years old and is set to be RELEASED but has filed a motion to CHANGE HIS NAME!!
He filed it in January under "John Doe" requesting to change it as authoritie says he went on a shooting rampage inside his family home in Albuquerque in 2013 and killed his parents, 2 younger sisters, aged 2 and 5 and 9 y/o brother!!
He is scheduled to be a free man on March 20, his 21st birthday as outliend under 2016 Children's Court order that found him to be receptive to treatment and could be sentenced as a juvenile
He had been sentenced as an adult and would have been locked up to 120 years but his lawyer, Matthew Bernstein wrote the name change to "assist him" in avoiding unnecessary recognition once released as well as being able to get a job
In an 11th bid to keep the killer behind bars, Michelle Pato field a motion arguing against the release as she cited "generalized" threats where he made threats to other inmates and posed a threat
But a state police investigation said they didn't uncover any criminal threats made by him during his state custody
Nehemiah told investigators that HE was the one who got threats that came from people who were scared of his release and were trying to block him and said he had no communication with people outside as he does not intend to hurt anyone
He also carries no "resentment" to his family and said "i've moved on. I want to just live my life and i want to be left alone"
In the 2013 grisly murder, he first shot his mother, Sarah in bed as she slept, then woke up his brother Zephania to show him her dead body and then shot him as well. He then went to his sisteer's bedrooms and shot 5 y/o Jael and 2 y/o Angelina. Hours later when his father, Greg came home from work at a homeless shelter, he waited for him in a bathroom and ambushed him.
He said he had "anger issues" and been annoyed with his mom and said he was "abused" at home and suffered a brain injury because of the beatings of his father who was a gang member turned pastor.
Prosecutors said he should have been tried as an adult because it was a premeditated murder and expressed no rermorse.
He was diagnosed with PTSD and schizo who took medication but no longer need it
His older sisters, Vanessa Lightbourne and Annette Verreault want him to remain IMPRISONED as they fear for their lives from their younger brother
