That's the general consensus, from what I've heard. Most reviews say the game is good, but the lootboxes/progression mar the experience.
Even without the lootboxes the game is pretty average and shallow, only a few guns for each class and is severely lacking in some iconic hero characters from the Clone wars era. most maps are also clearly imbalanced and favor one side.
