It's also already part of the U.S.
EDIT: Not that I'd put it past Trump to claim that he has gloriously added the new, foreign land of "Puerto Rico" to America and expect his base to exalt him for it.
Trump's "base" should be fully aware that Puerto Rico is a disaster, and are only just now taking statehood seriously because the territory is mismanaged and broke, Detroit-style.
Tomorrow afternoon may very well force the issue, though.
