Have you ever bought a game without playing it first?

Well i guess unless i signed up for Gamefly there really isn't away to try a game before buying it anymore?
I don't think there is a single rental store anywhere in my state anymore.
I guess a better question for me would be if you ever bought a game without reading a review or even previewing it.
