Sony's Emoji movie which is universally panned by critics and social media since it was first announced, the movie is still surprisingly doing well at the opening weekend for what it's worth...
Depending on Saturday, Emoji movie could still surpass Dunkirk for the weekend since it's the only family movie out until August 11 with The Nut Job 2.
It scored a 10M Friday while Dunkirk had an 8M Friday gross but is expected to outgross Emoji movie with a 28 vs 27M at the weekend box office.
Atomic Blonde however is doing LOWER than expected with 18M opening after earning just 7M today. it was supposed to earn a mid 20's to even 30's but audiences seemed mixed on both Emoji movie and Atomic Blonde as both earned a B cinemascore.
But on perspective, Sony's other low rated movie, Jack and Jill with Adam Sandler also had a similar panning..and that movie grossed 27M on its first weekend too and grossed 154M worldwide..
